Wall section at Tiburtina Railway Station - Rome (Italy)
ABDR, Executive planning (Rome)
DescriptionGalleryDetails
This detail regards the facade of one of the buildings at the new Roman Tiburtina railway station. To make the block appear as light as possible it was decided to cover the outside with perforated metal panels fixed at a distance of 40cm from the wall. This type of "skin" created a kind of "prison" with its own shape, enveloping corners and hiding the supporting structures. I was working in the team of executive planning for 2 years.
The physical model represents the project in scale 1:200. It is a study model, used to facilitate understanding of the project, to study better the delicate points of the design, as well as to help with imagining spatial concepts.
