Giorgi Architects, Executive planning and architectural model (Rome)
DescriptionGalleryDetails
This project of Vincenzo Giorgi Architects, unlike most which involve the Client approaching the architecture studio, was born from the model which was used to first work out the site's volumetric possibilities in hosting sever at high density housing projects with specifically requested functions.
The location of the four buildings is the result of a formal study into high-density urban planning. The model had to emphasize the invention of the artificial landscaped plateau that conceals the parking lot on the ground level, and to indicate general architectural ideas expressed in the ‘glass skin' that creates a flowing mantle over the vertical faces and rooftops, whilst creating horizontal shelters and hanging canopies close to the ground of the public spaces.
